Obituary - George Yates, Carlisle City News (April 22, 1982)
Yates was a retired construction worker and a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Yates. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nannie Hudson Yates; a son, Elwin Yates, Bardwell; a sister, Mrs. Alene Stalion, Bardwell; two brothers, Neal Yates and Edward Yates, both of Bardwell.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Milner Funeral Home, Bardwell. Dr. A.J. Lambert officiated and burial was in Roselawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Albert Lee Yates, Edward J. Yates, Hershel Hudson, Glen Yates, Paul Ray and Howard Webb.
Honorary pallbearers were Tom Benton, John Ed Martin, Urey Riddle, Stanford Mason, James M. Evans, and Eugene Weatherford.
