Colonels Fly Ahead in State
University of Kentucky Basketeers Lose Only Opportunity for Danville College to be Checked
BILL TOSSES SEVEN IN
The only team in the state that stood any chance of challenging Centre College's right to the basketball championship of Kentucky lost that chance when the Colonels tramped on the Wildcats last night to the tune of 21-10. The game was played on State's floor.
The University of Kentucky five played the best game that they have put up on the local floor this season. Every man played hard and fast. Dishman's husky bulk stood him in good stead against the heavy Centre men. Lavin played another snappy game, standing up against men almost twice his size and weight. Everett was on the job with steam. In the last half when the Centre team tried the old trick of passing the ball under their enemy's goal to kill time, State broke into them with determination and stopped it. Thomas and Zerfoss both played good floor games at forward.
Bell was easily the star of the evening for the Colonels, netting seven field goals. Walden showed up in his close guarding and takes second honors. McMillan was all over the floor but did not have much success with the ball.
