Odds and Ends from the Rutgers Game:
Although Kentucky ate its pre-game meal at Pitino's favorite New York restaurant, Bravo Gianni's, prior to the Rutgers game, neither Rick nor point guard Travis Ford ate anything - they claimed to be too nervous.
UK controlled this game going away, and had another fine defensive performance as they held RU to 41.2% FG shooting. The Kentucky defense and press bothered the Scarlet Knights all night.
Rutgers star player Steve Worthy said of Duke and UK that "Duke's players are better off the dribble, and Kentucky is better inside." Head coach Bob Wenzel was quoted as saying "Kentucky creates turnovers, Duke players better half-court defense."
