Wildcats Fall Before Tigers
The Georgetown Tigers defeated the Wildcat basketball team last night on the Georgetown floor, 22 to 19.
Sorely crippled by the absence of former Captain Gumbert and "Dutch" Schrader, the Wildats were beaten in the first half 13 to 9, but staged a rally early in the second half and seemed to hit a winning stride. New men, however, playing in new positions failed to stand up successfully against the machine-like work of the Georgetown lads, with the subsequent defeat.
Simpson played his first game at center. Longsworth was shifted to forward to work with Ireland, while McKinney, a freshman worked at guard. Rodes played well at guard.
Taylor, Georgetown's premier athlete, an all-Kentucky forward last year, played the stellar game for the Tigers, making a total of five goals from field.
