Score of the Victor is 43 Against 32 Rolled Up For the Loser -- A Good Contest
The basket ball game between State Univesity and Georgetown College Monday afternoon resulted in a victory for the former, the final score being 43 against 32. The game which was played at the State University gymnasium was an excellent one, though it was quite clear from the first that State would win, the game was interesting throughout and was warmly contested till the close. Team work on both sides was good, while there was also some good individual playing.
Plummer for State and Bradford for Georgetown did the star playing. Plummer's work was as good as was ever witnessed upon a local floor, and to his credit belong 22 of the 43 points scored by State. Fifteen of Georgetown's points goes to Bradford, who was especially good on goals from fouls, throwing ten goals from thirteen attempts.
State began the game with a rush, scoring the first five points in rapid succession before her rival was able to score, and the rest of the game she lead her opponent by from five to ten points. During the game three points were awarded to Georgetown and one to State.
