STATE WINS
Takes Good Basket Ball Game From Central University of Danville
The State College basket ball team defeated the strong Central University team of Danville Thursday afternoon by the score of 31 to 20, after a hard fought contest. The game was played in State's gymnasium and was one of the best games played on a local floor this season.
The State boys started at Central in the first half, and by hard playing succeeded in running up a score of 18 to 13. Central fought hard but weakened in the second half, and State ran up the score to 31, while the best Central could do was to secure seven points in this half.
State won out by team work, and the individual playing of Downing and Wilson.
Central played a good game in the first half, but lost out in the last and failed to keep up their team work. Seelbach and Morris played the best game, and put up some good playing. The game was rough and a number of fouls were called.
By winning this game State College has a strong claim on the Inter-Collegiate championship for the State.
